About EmpowerU Physiotherapy

At EmpowerU Physiotherapy, we’re dedicated to empowering mothers on their journey from pregnancy to postpartum and beyond. Founded by Roxanne, a passionate and experienced Registered Pelvic Health PT, our mission is to provide personalized, one-on-one support to mothers, helping them achieve their best physical and emotional well-being during this transformative phase of life.

Our Commitment: Your Empowerment

We understand the unique challenges that come with motherhood, whether you’re preparing for the birth of your child or navigating the postpartum period. Our services are carefully crafted to address common discomforts, enhance core strength, prepare you for a smooth birth and support you in returning to the activities you love all in the comfort of your home.

Prenatal Physiotherapy: Your Path to Comfort and Strength

Ideal for any time in pregnancy, whether you are preparing for a vaginal or caesarean birth. Whether you are 13 weeks or 36 weeks pregnant, it’s never too early or too late to avail the benefits of Prenatal Physiotherapy. You deserve to have a comfortable, active and empowered pregnancy!

Discover how we can support you:

  • To prevent, manage and treat common pregnancy issues including low back/pelvic girdle/tailbone pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction, urinary/fecal incontinence, prolapse, constipation, urinary frequency, and urgency.
  • To educate you on how your core is working and how to use it optimally during pregnancy to best support your body and growing baby.
  • To manage pressure within your body so that development of a Diastasis Recti/Prolapse can be avoided.
  • To adopt optimal positions to help baby navigate the pelvis during labour with/without an epidural.
  • To learn efficient pushing strategies that decrease stress on the pelvic floor muscles.

Postpartum Physiotherapy: Reclaim Your Confidence

Beneficial for new or seasoned moms, regardless if you have had a caesarean or vaginal birth. It is ideal to begin at around 4 weeks postpartum, however, it is never ever too late to benefit from Pelvic Health PT.

Discover how we can support you:

  • To reconnect and retrain your core to create optimal support for your body after birth.
  • To prevent, manage, or resolve common postpartum conditions like low back/pelvic girdle and tail bone pain, urinary/fecal incontinence, prolapse, pubic symphysis dysfunction, diastasis recti and pain during intercourse.
  • To decrease tension from scaring after a caesarean or vaginal birth.
  • To return to the activities you love like running, CrossFit etc, by formulating an individualized strength training plan.

Home Services

Roxanne, works with Elevate: Women’s Health and Perinatal Care, which is a mobile clinic serving the North Shore & West Vancouver. Everything required for your session is brought to your home. The focus is on making the experience comfortable and convenient for you. A home visit negates the need to drive and find parking, pack baby up or find childcare for other children. Our goal with home visits is to take these barriers away and make Prenatal and Postpartum care more accessible.
